#22 Winter Northern Lights – 4 Days
Four calm days, built around three nights with a chance of northern lights. The Golden Circle first, with a night at Hótel Rangá and its observatory. Then the waterfalls and the black beach, and two nights at Hotel Katla east of Vík, far from city lights, with no packing in between. The driving days are short on purpose.
Written by Bijo — a licensed Icelandic guide (15 years, 8,000+ travellers). This is the route as I drive it myself.
• A timetable for every day — when to leave, how long at each stop, when you arrive
• Tap-to-navigate links and the Google Map
• My notes on every stop, where to sleep and eat, costs and a packing list
• Winter driving and northern lights — roads, wind, daylight
