Day Tour 02 · Golden Circle

Private Golden Circle Tour Earth splits. Geysers erupt. Waterfalls thunder.

One private day through three of Iceland’s great forces: the tectonic rift at Þingvellir, erupting geothermal power at Geysir and the raw force of Gullfoss — with the freedom to make the famous route feel completely personal.

This is what the day can feel like.

The Golden Circle is famous for a reason. The private version gives us time to enjoy the landmarks properly — and still notice the farms, food, geothermal life and unexpected stops between them.

Why private on the Golden Circle

The famous route without the conveyor belt.

Most Golden Circle tours follow the same road. What changes everything is how you travel it. With a private guide, we can leave earlier or later, change the order, stop for weather and light, and spend time where your interest actually is.

The headline sights matter — but so do the little Icelandic things between them. A bakery, geothermal cooking, a local maker, horses beside the road, a conversation that changes where we go next.

The core of the day

Three places that deserve more than a quick photo.

These are the classic anchors. The spaces between them are where a private day becomes your day.

Þingvellir National Park and tectonic rift landscape
01 · ÞINGVELLIR

Where history and geology meet.

Iceland’s old parliament site sits inside the great rift between the North American and Eurasian plates. We can walk, talk history, understand the geology — and give the place enough time to become more than a viewpoint.

Strokkur geyser erupting in the Geysir geothermal area
02 · GEYSIR

Stand close to the power underneath Iceland.

Strokkur erupts again and again while hot pools, steam and mineral colour fill the valley. We stay long enough to see it properly, find a good position and understand what is happening beneath the surface.

Gullfoss Golden Waterfall on the Golden Circle
03 · GULLFOSS

The Golden Waterfall.

Water drops through two great steps into a narrow canyon. Summer spray, winter ice, rainbows, wind — Gullfoss is never quite the same place twice, and we can use whichever viewpoints make sense that day.

Kerið red volcanic crater and blue crater lake
04 · KERIÐ + THE ROAD BETWEEN

Sometimes the smaller stop becomes the memory.

Kerið is a compact volcanic crater with red slopes and a deep blue lake. Depending on timing and your interests, we can also use the road between the big sights for farms, food, photography or something local that fits the day.

Take it further

Add something extra to your Golden Circle day.

The core Golden Circle already makes a full private day. These bookable experiences can replace smaller stops or extend the day. We choose what fits your group, timing, season and availability rather than trying to stack everything together.

Silfra snorkeling in the clear fissure at Þingvellir
Bookable · major experience

Silfra Snorkeling

Snorkel in the clear fissure at Þingvellir between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates. Because it is a timed activity, we build the rest of the Golden Circle around it.

Traditional Icelandic rye bread being baked using geothermal heat
Bookable add-on

Geothermal Bread Baking

See how Icelanders use the heat beneath the ground to bake traditional rye bread — a very Icelandic addition to the Golden Circle.

Geothermal bathing in Iceland beside the sea
Bookable add-on

Geothermal Bathing

Finish with hot water and time to slow down. Depending on your route and timing, we can combine the day with one of several geothermal bathing experiences.

Sky Lagoon in Iceland with a collage of lagoon, ocean view and guest experience
Reykjavík-side add-on

Sky Lagoon

End the Golden Circle with a strong geothermal finish at Sky Lagoon. It works especially well on the way back toward Reykjavík if you want the day to end with warm water, ocean views and a slower final chapter.

Snowmobile on Langjökull glacier in Iceland at sunset
Bookable add-on

Langjökull Snowmobiling

Leave the road and head onto the glacier by snowmobile. A major adventure add-on that turns the Golden Circle into a longer, more active day.

Family rafting on the Hvítá river near Iceland's Golden Circle
Summer · bookable add-on

Family River Rafting

Add a fun rafting experience on the Hvítá river. A strong summer option for families and groups who want activity as well as sightseeing.

Guests horseback riding on Icelandic horses
Bookable add-on

Icelandic Horseback Riding

Meet the Icelandic horse properly and add a riding experience to the day. We choose the right option for your group and experience level.

Greenhouse restaurant and local food experience in Iceland
Food & local life

Food, Farms & Local Life

Eat where food is grown, visit a working farm, try local produce or make time for a good Icelandic food stop instead of treating lunch as an interruption.

Optional experiences are paid separately and may extend or reshape the day. Timed activities such as Silfra snorkeling or snowmobiling are treated as anchors, and I build the rest of the route around them.

Private means freedom

The Golden Circle belongs to you for the day.

A typical route is Reykjavík → Þingvellir → Geysir → Gullfoss → Kerið → Reykjavík. But weather, road conditions, light, interests and pace can change the order — and the best extra stop is often the one we did not need to schedule months in advance.

The whole day · at a glance

See how the Golden Circle fits together.

Reykjavík sits at the western edge of the route. From there we move through Þingvellir, the Geysir geothermal area and Gullfoss before using the southern road back toward the city. The exact order can change when weather, light or a better idea gives us a reason.
